Antenna Mount on rear bumper

Hi,
Does anyone here have their CB antenna mounted on one of the corners of their rear bumper?
I've seen this setup before some places.
What do you guys think? Looks ok? Looks lame?
also, hows the reception there?

thanks

It's not a terribly efficient location for an antenna and it's hard to get a good match when it's mounted there. Because putting it on the bumper means a significant section of antenna is only inches away from metal, i.e. the tailgate, it's generally not a recommended location.

There aren't but 20 posts total in this particular section of the forum. None of the antenna posts here say anything about an antenna mounted on the rear bumper. Plus i'm from Georgia! We're kinda slow down here so you have to cut us some slack.

search in the main toyota 4runner forum. i did a quick search and in the first page, there are several references to what you are looking for.

I put the antenna on my VW pickup on the rear bumper. It works OK for what I use it for:
