stepping up
Have created my first beast, 79 yota, bobbed, lifted, 36's. Fabbing a reciever hitch mounted winch. Realized with the height of vehicle wife will have problem getting in and out of "scrappy". Thought of welding a reciever direct to frame under both doors. Buying step down reciever hitchs, welding a step or two to it. Idea is when wheeling put hitch in to assist in getting in to cab, then retrieve it from reciever by reaching down or attaching cable to it. Ideas, issues I should consider.

sliders would be a much better option. Anything lower than the frame will be a hindrance to the ground clearance. Or just keep a stepstool in the truck.

Why not build rock sliders and have a step made that hangs over the outer bar and under the inner bar. This way it can be removed by lifting it off of the slider and sored away! Make it as small as you can and it'll be easy to store.(ie. big enough for 1 foot)
Hope this helps...
