I call shenanigans !!! SAS is unfair when talking about IFS lifts!

How’s that thing coming along anyhow? I think that we are all waiting with baited breath to see finished pics!

Hehehe. Slowest thing ever. I just had to have Marlin ship me the second batch of parts he left out of my crawler order. In fact, I was trying to think long and hard about other things they might have left out, and I think I might have actually come up with more stuff they left out! Just recently finished a month long wait for my drag link, and it didn't fit (improperly threaded). Shaker came to the rescue and he is getting me one ASAP, should be here this week. Thank God for Shaker, his price was even way better. I messed up big by not buying from him in the first place. Not to mention the spacer fiasco. The next person to do this is gonna have a much easier time of it because I have run into every problem possible

I mean if the dang crawler stuff had come with instructions, i could have known off the bat that i was missing stuff. I have to figure it out as I go along, not to mention I have MC09 number 15 so there isn't all that many people that have done this before. It has looked like this since december:

I hope i am less than a month out, but if stuff keeps happening at the rate it has been, forget it. Fortunately the only custom stuff i have left to do after the crawler is drive shafts, and word on the street is that Jesse has excellent service, so i am not too worried about that. I will have those rush ordered if I can.

To just put a solid axle under the front of a truck is not much more expensive, if at all, then an IFS lift. But when you do that, you got to lift the rear too. Why do all that and not lock up the axles. Then I decided to do a crawler. Then with the new lift comes new tires. New tires means you probably want lower gears for that new axle, so then you have to regear the rear as well. If you just switched to a solid axle, it would be SO very cheap, but I know I can't leave well enough alone. So I have quite a bite of money in it, most of which has nothing to do with just a straight SAS. I lost count, I just feel it is better to do things right the first time so you don't have to redo anything. When I am done with this project, the truck is done completely....

my idea is to get the front kit for a taco PC kit. and then getting a set of OME 882 for the rear. that should put me at 4" in the front and 3-3.5" in the rear. any more lift in the rear, you would need to get longer control arms and/or custom drop brackets made for the 4 link. throw in a 3" body lift and i will be sitting at 7" and should easily clear 315/70R16 (35"). perfect street queen with the occassional 4 wheeling. btw, i'm in the process of finding a trail rig so this won't happen until after i build that up.

44runner's sas 3rd gen will be bad ass once he gets it out of the garage!!!!

IF it gets out of the garage...

I pulled the rear drive shaft today, if i have time I will ship it and my front off tomorrow, if not, monday.

assuming all my parts get here like they are supposed to, the crawler will go in this weekend. The 4th weekend is a charm I guess, or it better be for marlin's sake :pat:

should have my drag link next week, order my shafts next week and hopefully have them by the week after. Damn, this thing could actually come together soon...
