Quick question 1998 4Runner AWD? Such a thing?
Hey everyone I have a quick question, I am looking to purchase my first 4Runner and have contacted a lady selling a 1998 Limited 4Runner V6. While talking with her on the phone I asked if the 4Runner is 4x4 and she stated yes it's AWD. However looking at the interior pictures that she posted I can see the gear selector its Auto but there is no selector for 4wd next to it? Is this correct? Do all 4wd 4Runners have 4x4 selectors? Thanks

If it's 4wd it WILL have a 4WD selector, there was no push button 4wd selector on any 3rd gens (96-02) to my knowledge. As far as the "AWD" even if it did have 4wheel that feature wasn't introduced till '99.
