New clutch - recommendations

Hi all,

I'm in need for a new clutch for my 2000 SR5 4Runner, 5spd, since
mine started slipping.
Which kit which you guys recommend...
Please let me know exactly what I need to buy to complete this
project, or does a clutch kit come with everything I need.
I hear that OEM clutches are no good, and a member said that maybe
I should get a stage 1 or stage 2 performace clutch. Please explain the difference between 1 & 2 and how they differ from the OEM clutch. I apologize for the ignorance, but this is the first time I had to deal with my clutch.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

maguirre

I just bought a marlin crawler clutch for my truck. Ill let you know how it is as soon as i get it in on wednesday next week. And make sure you replace the clutch master and slave cylinders. Its two less things you have to worry about. O and btw. NEVER buy an autozone clutch. NEVER. I have about 10000 miles on this one and ill never buy another one.

OEM's are great, just a ta don the pricey side, as is everything from the stealership...you can check with Excedy, and a clutch kit should have everything you need.

If you buy a clutch kit then you will have all the parts needed. As for tools. Someone else should chime in.

No need to apologize. I was in your same boat in january. If you need anything feel free to pm me or my aim is mytoy8689@aol.com

I've had a Marlin Clutch for over a year now and no problems-did not replace master cylinder or slave cylinder.

Mine is starting to slip as well with only 5K miles on it . I purchased my clutch kit from the dealer and I didnt resurface the flywheel .
I was going to install the TRD kit however my buddy that is also supercharged says his is starting to slip at 20k miles the flywheel was resurfaced.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a spec3+ http://www.specclutch.com/ clutch but they are very expensive .I was interested in the ACT clutch's but I dont believe they make one for a V6(3.4) 4x4.
Hopefully, someone here will be able to offer more insight as well.
