What's up guys. I've been considering lifting my truck just a tad to give it a little more of a distinctive look, but I am pretty clueless when it comes to lifts. I believe there are two types, suspension lift and body lift. Here's the questions....

1. What would ya'll recommend to give me the look that I'm looking for? I guess it would be a 1"-2" lift.
2. I've currently got 265/70/R16 tires, which are about 29" tall. What's the tallest tire that I could run with my new setup?

I'm not looking for a real "jacked up in the air" look, I just want a little more distinction for my 4Runner. Give me some feedback dudes. Later.

Cheapest way is getting some Cornfed Spacers. (www.cornfedsuspension.com) (suspension lift)

You'll be able to get some 265.75.16 tires instead of the 265.70.16. If you want to go biggier, you can go 285's but you'll have to do some trimming.

Take a quick look at other rides and see what their specs are and go based on that since you're looking for more of the looks factor. That will give you the best perspective of how much to lift.

PP coils and Bilstein shocks will give you anywhere from 1-2" and the option to run 265/75/16s (32x10.50) or 275/70 (31x11.00).

Spacers are going to give you as close to stock ride as your gonna get with a lifted truck.

Edit: Except for a body lift.

How about a Body Lift? I am happy with mine, and I retained a nice ride for the most. A little more body roll, but nothing major.

I second the PP springs. I chose them due to the fact I drive 98% on road and prefered not to go too high (lift wise). My 4runner looks great after the PP springs/blisteins and I feel I have better control of the vehicle. Not to mention it corners better too.

I think your goals are exactly like my goals are: retain factory look as much as possible with the benefits of added lift for ocassional off-roading.

I have PP 1" lift springs with Bilsteins with 265/75/16 Bridgestone Revo ATs. I think this is the optimal combination, based on heavy research here on 4x4, numerous opinions, and now, my own personal opinion.



This was b/f the Revos went on.

I don't have any regrets with this combination.

I'm running 265/75/16 with a bone-stock sagging suspension. NO rubbing. I think he could go higher with a little lift.

I plan on getting a 3" Revtek lift and plan to run 285/75/16's on it. Sombody even told me i could run 305/75/16's no problem.

Ditto. Stock suspension, (260k on it too, so obviously got a little sag) and BF goody all terrain t/a ko's 265/75/16, absolutely no rubbing.

What is the difference in height between the 265/70/16 and the 265/75/16? The 70s I have are about 29" tall. Thanks for all of the advice. Later.

I dont know the scientific answer to that (I hate math) but when I measured my 75's, I was right around 30.7"

They were on the vehicle, which changes things a little.

According to this , 265/70/16 equates to 30.61" and 265/75/16 is equivalent to 31.65. I currently have Michelin LTX M/S 265/75/16 on stock suspension with the exception of the Bilsteins and I experienced no rubbing at all. Hope this helps.

Hey Matt... I have a 99 with a 2.5" suspension lift and 265/75 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I ended up with cornfed spacers (tradeed 1.5" set that I bought for $70) and tundra coils with HD Bilsteins up front ($100 off of ebay - BRAND NEW) and Downey rear coils ($160 used). I installed them myself in just over 2 hours. If you want to check it out one day, PM me. I live in Greystone Farms and work near 280 and Meadow Brook.

You can do cornfed spacers only for about $300. Body lift is less than $100.

Uhhh, thanks, I think. The pic in the other ARB vs. TJM thread isn't my truck. I was just using it to show the bumper I ordered. Let me know if you want to take mine for a drive and seel how it feels with the lift. I still have the banged up bumper on it, but here's mine with the 2.5" lift & 265/75's installed...
