Talking just an intro =)

hey all,

finally back in the toyota truck scene after a couple year hiatus (sp?). i'm a long time registrant on the OFC and TrailTalk forums but haven't been very active. i'm starting to get the "bug" again and saw a link to this forum... looks great! more activity than any of the other 4runner forums i've seen.

i've always driven my 4runner but haven't done much work on 'er for a couple years (just regular maintenance) until this past september when my right upper a-arm from WCOR snapped! i took the downtime as an oppourtunity to take apart most of the front and rear end suspension, clean 'er up, re-lube everything, threw on a fresh coat of semigloss rustoleum, on the diffs and frame, and finally finished the re-install w/ the beefed up upper a-arms. i probably could've done this all in a couple weekends but it took a while to get my arms to a machinist to work on. finally got my alignment on tuesday and i've been a happy camper since then

looking forward to going thru the archives and finding more things to workon in my truck now...

Deo

Kick back, relax, and watch the hole in your pocket get bigger and bigger... (its one of those unspoken things that happens on this forum)

oh, i know all about the ol' burning-a-hole-in-your-pocket deal. that's one of the reasons why i stepped away from upgrading my 4runner for the last couple years. needed to hold off on spending the big $$'s and save up for our move from the bay area to sacramento.

i got into the nitro r/c hobby but that, too, gets kinda expensive! kinda similar to 1:1 trucks... you know... upgrade, break, replace, upgrade more, replace more, spend more... but it's WAY FUN and tons cheaper to replace broken parts than my 4runner.

but now we're pretty settled in the new home and i want to get back into the scene. planned semi-major upgrades: 4crawler's sliders and 1.5 or 2" body lift, replace 4.56's w/ either 4.88's or ???, extra or replacement armor for underneath the truck, relocation of gas tank to where the spare tire is (after bodylift), relocation of spare tire to ????, replacement of stock front bumper w/ tubular bumper, roofrack, ... more to come later.

Did you ever relocate the tank? I'm looking to do it soon, myself, but I can't find anyone that has done it on our vehicles.
