I took the first big step toward selling the 4runner...
Yep that's right. Actually I took three steps today. I cleaned it out. Man, I really had a lot of crap in there. I had no idea there was that much stuff in it. After the sub, amp, jumper cables, and misc junk, I had quite a pile leftover. I gave her a good washing, vacuum, and wipe down. And I bought a "For Sale" sign.
My dad's work is on the side of a major highway so I'm going to let him park it out there when he goes to work. Hopefully it'll sell quick. In the mean time, I'll be driving my old Dodge Ram. The sad thing is that it gets about the same gas mileage as my 4runner and the engine is literally twice the size. With a 180K miles on it and still running strong, I can't argue too much.
I'm sure some of you are wondering what I will buy next. Well have no fear, it's going to be another 4runner. Hopefully I will stumble across the right SR5 4wd 5speed once I get the cash from mine. I was looking at getting into another truck but I want the better gas mileage and I like my 4runner. My only real gripe about it is the engine and auto tranny.
So wish me luck and hopefully she will be sold soon.

A '96 or '97. The '98 is probably going to be a little out of my price range and is basically the same vehicle.
I already had one guy look at it today when I was working with my dad.
My fingers are crossed.

Thanks. I'm just hoping I can locate something decent quickly so that I don't inconvenience my parents too much. It's a shame the 5-speeds aren't more prevalent.
On a side note, it's great being able to step on the gas and actually pass traffic on the highway. What a feeling that is.

3 people looked at it in 2 days and one lady is going to bring her husband back to see it.
If anyone knows of a clean '96-'98 SR5 4x4 5-speed in Texas please PM me. I'm going to need to find something as quick as I can after I sell mine. I'd really rather get a 5-speed if I can locate one.
Thanks Guys

Well my dad thinks my 4runner will be gone in the next couple days. I still can't find a decent 5-speed in Texas. I did, however, find a higher mileage 97 limited that I'm going to look into. The price is good so I may go for it.
Everyone in Texas, please keep your eyes out for a decent 4runner for me. I prefer the SR5/5-speed but I just can't find one so an auto may have to do.
Thanks
Ag
