Question fuel injector cap?

i am replacing the o-rings and grommets on three of the injectors on my 92 runner, but when i took them out, the ends of the plastic (or rubber) caps that fit onto the ends of the spraying nozzles fell apart, they were very brittle. how important is it to have those rubber caps? or can i just put the injectors in without them and not have to worry about it? the spraying hole of the injector is a very small precision hole and the hole in the cap is much bigger, so it shouldn't affect the spray? right? thanks for your help!

You definetly want those. Go to Big Two or Superstition and get some new ones. Always do it right the first time.

They protect the end of the injector and insulate if from engine heat. Replace them. I got a set from Dr. Injector when I had mine out.

ok, i am going to replace them. i called superstition toyota and they said they have some in stock. 7 bucks a pop just for a little plastic thingy. i've seen a lot of pictures of injectors without them, so i thought maybe you didn't need them. but now i know they are important. thanks for the help!

Look for that Valley Toyota Dealer coupon thing that comes out in the mail. It helps a little. I think its 25% off or something.
