exhaust problems???? need help!
I started noticing an increasing lack of power in my 95 4runner limited. Associated with this is a noise coming from under the hood near the exhaust manifold. I cannot find any hole, but the sound and lack of power persist. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have read the forums before for other problems and always found the answers so I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

Is this a 22re? They do have a history of developing a crack in the exhaust pipe just below the exhaust manifold.
Depending on the location of the 02 sensor(s), the ECU will read a lean condition and start dumping more fuel into the engine and it will run rich. This in turn starts to gob up the 02 sensor making it hard for it to read the exhaust which in my experience tends to result in it cranking up the fuel mixture yet again.
I have a '93, but I only recently got it and haven't been using it very much so my knowledge of location of the o2 sensor(s) in the '95s is pretty much nada.
If it is the 22re, pulling the manifold is generally pretty easy and it will give you a chance to check to see if there is a leak at the manifold or where it hooks onto the exhaust pipe.
V6? I don't have a clue
