HunterRunners 1985 4runner build

I just picked up this 85 4runner a couple of weeks ago, a year after totaling my 87 4runner. I have been looking for a while for one of these and i finally found this one in Atlanta. I drove down and got it and everything seemed to be fine. The p.o. said he put a reman block in it and put a 3'' lift on it with new 31x10.50 bfg all terrians. After i bought it i took it to the gas station down the road and it drove really good. After filling up, i left the gas station and i noticed it was sluggish and kind of wanted to bog down until after half throttle and then it would take off like normal and this happen in all the gears. I thought maybe i had gotten some bad gas. I got it on the interstate and it drove great. I had an average speed of about 65-70 unless i was going up a hill then it loss all power and i had to down shift. when i got off my exit and got to the light and went to take off at the green light it started bogging down again got it home and parked it. The next day i started using the yotatech and the search button and belive me i have found alot on these symptoms. I have been trying to go through all the possiblities one by one starting with the cheap fixes but no luck yet. Moneys tight right now cause im going back to school to be a physical thearpiest and working and taking care of my two boys, so this will be a slow build. i drove the runner to school the other day and i noticed when i got back home the radiator was boiling . I was thinking HG but i took the thermastat and bench tested it and it wasnt opening so i took a screw driver and barely touched it and it open back up so i put it back in and everythings good there now. I belive my problem is either the AFM or TPS. I have a old ohms tester but im not even sure how to use it. I downloaded the fsm on my laptop and that has really helped with diagnostics. If you guys have any suggestions or any guidence let me know, i will try anything. I really want to get this thing running good before spring cause my little boy were looking forward to taking the top off! Sorry for the long post and typing errors im horrible at typing lol.

Ok today I opened up the valve cover and check the timing chain and it looks new with metal guides and no rub marks on the timing chain cover. change the spark plugs and wires. But still running like crap! the check engine light was not on but I check for stored codes and got a 2,7 and 8. I unplug the battery to reset the codes then I drove it around and check the codes again and got a 2 and a 8 (AFM and air thermo sensor). is the air thermo sensor inside the air flow meter? wow I was under the hood I was going to check the O 2 sensor and I could not find 1 I did find the plug which has nothing plugged up to it. could this be my problem?

Update: I haven't driven the 4runner in a while but I've been tinkering with it when I have time. I noticed tonight there was a plug hanging down below the TB, so I found where it went to and it plugged up to the air valve. I clean the plugs up and drove it down to the gas station. It was running good at first like it usually does when it's cold but 1/2 mile down the road the temp gauge jumped up to half way like it was warm already and started bogging down real bad unless I went pass half throttle then it would smooth out and keeps doing it through all the gears in this pattern. Any body ever had something like this or heard of this happening? it's 30 degrees out tonight so I know it,didn't warm up that fast in 1/2 a mile. And it wasn't overheating. Thanks for any help!

You might want to do a compression test and a leak down test cold then let warm up and test again that way you can rule out internal issues then clean carb or tb.

New o2 and manifold

Fixed the bogging issue! Turns out it was the o2 sensor. Got another manifold w/ o2 bung and put a new Denso o2 sensor and runs like a champ now!

This is the old maniflod

and the new one with the bung

Now that the bogging issue is gone now I can work on some other stuff
