I ordered a set of Moog replacement rear coils (part # cc255) for my 93-4runner, awaiting their arrival so I can install them and get the rig to finally sit level.

I did some research and found the Moog springs to be a popular choice. I am not a fan of spacers (although they are a cheaper alternative)....You can read the thread on what alot of people have been doing at:

add a leaf , or maybe a shackle lift if its still got leafs, but they make some coil spacers that i may look at when i get my runner. or landcrusier springs may work well too.

Doh! Ordered new springs, but went dyslexic and got Moog 225's rather than 255's.

go to performanceparts4trucks.com and look through the yota section. I know they have some leveling springs for about $180. A friend of mine went that route.

Yeah, go with Performance Products springs. They are the same height, and increase the spring rate and are progressive, but I am running 33's without rubbing in the back at all. It's about equally priced with the others, and the progressive rate is a LOT more comfy than anything else that I've heard of.

All Pro off road springs are great for leveling a truck and adding a little bit. My brother added them to his otherwise stock 4Runner and it has a very nice stance. And for a price of $150 they are hard to beat.



And yes his 4Runner is ugly and needs bumpers

yea, i bought some allpro offroad ones for myne, but i havent received them yet, did he have to mess with the torsion bars to make it look level? also just wonderin what kind of tires he's got?

The only thing I did was make a relocation drop bracket for the rear brake line. Since the springs add about 1.5", I made a bracket out of aluminum flatstock that drops the mounting point for the rear brake line about 1.5-2".

Other than that, I think the stance of the truck is perfect without adjusting the torsion bars. In the pic I posted the torsion bars at at stock adjustment.

One thing I should mention though, is that my brothers 4Runner for some reason doesn't have the Rear Brake Proportioning Valve (his truck still stops very very good). When we did the install we didn't think anything of it (I didn't know the truck was supposed to have so I didn't know it was missing), but since then I also bought a 4Runner and we now know that his truck is missing it.

I'm not sure if raising the rear of the truck will make a difference to this valve or not, so you should probably ask a question or search the forum about it. I know that Downey actually goes through the trouble of including a relocation bracket for the valve with their rear coil kit, so it might be worth checking into...

Anyways just to reiterate, I think the springs provide the perfect remedy for the classic 2nd Gen rear azz sag.

Oh and tires my brothers truck has are 31" Dayton Timberline MT's, very nice aggressive tire.
