BFG A/T in Sand?? What are your experiences??
The rig I just got has a new set of BFG A/T's and I'm planning on running them in the dunes. Maybe 10psi or so. Has anyone had any experience with these in sand? I've only ever run on TXR's and Swampers.
Thanks!
Thanks!

BFG ATs should do a lot better than the Swampers in sand, they wont dig in as much, giving you better flotation. Every pound you deflate counts for traction, I've ran my ATs as low as 5 psi, being careful not to do sharp turns to keep my tires mounted. (I have 16x6 steelies, so it's harder to lose a bead)

From what I have seen they are great. Last time I went to the dunes my buddy has 33 BFG AT's on his taco, I had 33 TSL's on my runner. He never need 4wd, I never used 2wd....

They still make them, but you have to ask for 325/60R15. I personally dont like how they look (they look outta proportion to me), but it's exactly that proportion of high width vs low height that gives them a great performance on sand, even the MTs

Last time i was there i ran my 2wd 4runner with 31" BFG all terrains. they did GREAT. the 2 times before that i had goodyear wrangler GSAs, didnt do so good, i was always getting stuck. but the BFGs are great as long as you air down. i aired down to 8 PSI.
and yes, MTRs will dig you in, which is a bad thing
