i have a fujifilm a700,(about 150 on ebay) good camra,Nice screen but the delay can suck sometimes. It hold about 150 pics with no memory card. but you have to save them to the card manually so if you forget later youll be pissed cause it will just not transfer then to the computer.
i use to use my moms cannon, that camra was jsut as good but no delay and reminded u that u had to many pics and needed to save them on the card

After considerable research, I purchased a Canon SD870 IS. It has image stabilization, a 3" LCD, etc., but it also features a 28-105mm lens. The key is the 28mm wide angle--once you've had a wide angle lens, there is no going back to a standard 38-100mm lens. I love everything about this camera, but a larger zoom would be nice. I wouldn't give up the wideangle to get the zoom and I would not be willing to give up it's size to get the zoom either.
If you want a better zoom, look at the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 and the TZ5, it's 2008 replacement. It has the 28mm wideangle but has a 10X optical zoom for a total focal length of 280mm. It is not as small as the Canon and the Panasonic's image sensor is known for a bit more image noise, particularly at lower light levels, but it is a nice camera. It was my #2 choice. Here is the difference between a 35mm lens and a 28mm:

i just recentley picked up a Olympus stylus 770sw, its a great camera 7.1 mega pixel, 3x optical zoom, 6.7 to 20.1mm zoom lens, Super rugged metal casing and the best part of this camera is it is shockproof and waterproof up to 33 feet, Basically you can toss this things around and not worry about it, great for the trial, (or for people like me that are just hard on there electronics)

You can't go wrong with a Canon. I LOVE my Powershot A610.
