I haven't had any experience with wires other than stock, but most people say that they notice very little difference with getting some upgraded ones. Get the stock ones and save some money.

Take a look at Magnacor. I run and love them. If you get them at the right shop it should only be a few bucks more than stock. Out here in Cali there's a place called
Orange County Speed

The guy there is pretty knowledgeable on ignitions and sold me on a set of these.

When it comes to ignition components on the 3.0 you can't beat OEM stuff. IMO

NGKs are just as good if not better than Magnecores and the cost is half and I speak from experience.

My dealership wanted $62 for the 3.4L stockies. I liked blue so i ordered 3.4L NGK's. As far as i know ebay seller: "nvthai" sells them for $28 send him an email he will hook you up.

I love the set that I got from Wires4Cars.com.

There are a couple of threads about them (and other wire sets) on the forum:

I just installed a set of NGKs on my 4Runner. The look sharp. I noticed an immediate difference in the way the truck ran. However, I should note that one of the previous wires made by Borg Warner practically exploded and caused the engine to miss.

I run nothing but NGK or Denso in my '94 V6 4Runner, and I've never had a problem with them at all.

I second OEM wires.....can't beat the stock ones for fit, finish, and durability. Let's face it, you won't gain any substantial performance improvement from plug wires.
