How bad did i get hosed lol
I just got this truck.
It's a 1996 Toyota T-100 SR5 4x4.
i traded a really clean 2003 yamaha r1 for it.
i got flamed for my truck on another forum.
well this is what i know about the vehicle
40" Groundhawgs
15"x12" American Eagle Baja Rims
Front suspension swapped to a Dana 44 with ARB Locker
Rear swapped to a Ford 9" with 5.89 gear ratio and Detriot Lockers
One piece front and rear drive shaft
1/2 ton front and rear Leaf Springs
Warn HS 9500 Wench
6" extended fiberglass rear fender off and rear tail lights off of a Tundra
Tow package
V6, Ram Air intake
3" exhaust. High Flow Cat
Kodiac electrical steps.
Optima Yellow Top battery
Tinted windows. Power lock doors. Power windows
Viper alarm with remote
Custom Sound System
and the transmission was replaced
pretty much pulled that off the guys ad.
well. i know i have a lot of work ahead of me.
just not sure if this is worth keeping or selling?

i had a stock version of that exact model, loved it. someone put a lot of work and money into all the mods there. I bet you can have some off-road fun with it, so if that's what you were looking for, you did ok I'd say.

The slip yoke allows the suspension to travel up and down without shoving the driveshaft forward an putting tons of force through your driveline. If anyone can explain this better please do.

For an r1 trade I say you got a good if not better deal then the guy you traded , as for the work that needs to be done sounds like it will be a wash in the long run a few minor things need fixed on it so you will still come out very well on the deal.
For shocks check 4wheelparts .com there are going to be one of the best deals around for shocks.

Front Differential View.
Leaf-Springs

run the truck as it is for now. As you feel it needs more upgrades... do the research. If anything doesnt perform the way you expect it to...look into it.
I wouldnt go throwing money at it until you are sure you want to do the mods...

Wow it has three shocks per front side.
I like the truck over all it has a lot of good mods put into already.
It really depends on what you are going to use the truck for, as far as to keep it or sell it.
I would not think you could get back what you could have got for the R1 if you sell it as is. If you just got it I would keep it for a while and add or take off stuff that does not suit your needs.

One steering stabilizer
One shock/corner
Lower it.
Sell the ground hawgs to an inbreeder, and get a real tire in the 35-37" flavor and you will gain traction and reduce rolling weight.

Did you get flamed on Pirate?
Judging by the pictures those guys would just love to chew someone up over that beast.
My personal opinion is that, unless the bike was dropped a few times and/or had high miles, you got taken.
If you like it though, who cares what anyone else thinks.
