Broke my frigin fan blade!

Well....I went to the mudhole last night and was having a blast. Even pulled out a stuck truck... which was a 06 4dr 4wd jacked up F250! . Ok now that I have tooted my own horn. Comes the bad part lol. Me and my girl decided to wheel around some more and were having a blast. Well after digging thru this hole a lot....it got deeper and softer. Well of course my 36" swampers and 4wd handled it no problem....not so much my fan though . I heard a loud noise and though I broke something in the driveline but pulled outta the whole fine. To find the fan in pieces . So I ended up having to get pulled home which on a positive side was the best MPG my trucks ever seen! Anyhow, I got up this morning and went to the local jk and they have NO t100s or 4runners....gonna try some more in the morning otherwise I might go electric fan. Anyones thoughts? Honestly I work for a big parts store so getting things isn't that hard. Should I just say screw it and do an electric fan wired to ign. Or stick with factory fan blade if I can find one? I got a 16" efan at work that pulls 1400cfm for less than $70. Won't know till the morning if I can even get a blade. It's my dd so I have to fix it by tomorrow night lol. Thanks yall!

do electric. i always liked electric over clutch driven fans.... more control over over the fan.

Dont do electric, its is not worth it.

I broke my fan going through a water hole, swapped in a e-fan. lots of issues with all of it. saw no power or mpg increase. Just order a new one on amazon or rock auto and be done with it.

Just make sure you do a good job of getting your splash guards in there well to keep the water out as much as possible.

You can use the 3.0L 3vze fan blade. I swapped mine over to see if it would work or not and it's a perfect fit! Bolts up without any problems.

You can pick up a fan blade from RockAuto or such for $45-60. Even a local auto parts store could probably come up with one for you.

I could not be convinced to use a 3vze fan blade after seeing the damage when that outer ring comes apart (maybe not all years of the 3vze blade have the issue?).

I couldn't agree more rworegon. If I had a quarter for every 3VZ fan I've seen cracked or shattered...it just completely not worth it. The outer shell was supposed to be a sort of shroud, but they had serious balance issues and were prone to catastrophic failure with age at high engine rpms, taking out radiators, battery's, timing coves, and even exiting through the hood. OP, seriously do your self a favor and just get yourself a factory fan. I ran an electric on my T for almost a year. Definitely not worth the possible future issues. Mine was a 1600 cfm, and it would keep the truck good and cool on the street, or idling in traffic in 90+ weather. But once I started goin good and slow on the trail, the temp gauge would slowly start to climb. I finally took it off after a July trip Farmington, New Mexico. That was the hottest I ever got the truck, and I count my blessings that I didn't hurt anything, and that the truck held up for the rest of the trip, the 400 mile drive home, and since. I will never run another electric fan again, at least not as the primary.

Dont go electric. You have so much more to go wrong and all of those components are more fragile. A decent electric fan is very expensive.

Make sure you have a skidplate to block that mud from flying up.

I had a experience where the back of my radiator was completely caked with mud. Then it exploded..... This mud was stupid thin.. got all in my brakes... I saw 3 chevys getting pulled out with destroyed alternators haha
