Ignition Switch/Starter/Accy. Switch Panel

Here's the deal...I have an '88 Toyota Pickup. I can start it with a screwdriver and i'm fine with that. However if it's that easy to start I'd like to look into just getting a simple igniton switch with a return to center starter toggle. I don't even want to worry about keys anymore. Does anybody have a schematic or wireing info on how to bypass the key all together. I don't want to waste my time putting the key in turning to on postion then pushing a button to start seems like a wasted effort. Let me know what you all have done. I'd like to add all my accessory electronics to the panel as well ie. stereo, trail lights, etc.

Gotta love these trucks...time to NASTRUCK it!!!

I have a PDF copy of the FSM for the 88 truck and 4Runner. The file is nearly 83MB in size so emailing it is not an option. I did screen captures of the electrical schematics and saved them as JPGs. They're very legible and the ten files total 1.1MB, which email can handle with no problem. PM me if you want them.

I don't think anyone has ever done it before, Take lots of photos and do a write up on it. You'll be the first and if done right I think it will look awesome.

Thanks for the motivation. I've never taught anyone anything...lol. I should be able to decypher these diagrams here shortly.

Quick question off topic - I noticed your Rausch Creek tag...is it 4runners only or are our pickups alowed? Plus, I'm from Hershey area and i have never been to Rausch...I heard it was very rocky...I'm more of a tight techincal trail/hill climb/mud pit sort of wheeler...never attempted rocks. Let me know. Thanks again.

there are all kinds of trails at Rausch Creek, It's not all 4runners, it's just an event going on there that we decided to do a group run there while it was going on, anyone is invited. Your more than welcome to join in. Doesn't matter if you have a yota or not either, but it looks like the group so far is all yotas.

You will need 2 switches....one (toggle on/off) to control ACC/IGG power and a momentary switch (or push button type) to control the starter motor. Use a relay for both as high current switches are hard to come by (and expensive).

If you need help just let me know...
