Fuel Pump Problem

Fuel Pump Problem
I have an 88 pickup with a 22RE. My problem is that the fuel pump hasn't been working so I ran a direct line from the battery to the fuel pump wire in the test box under the hood. But the fuel pump still will not turn on. What I would like to know is if that means that the fuel pump is bad or is there something else that would keep it from turning on.

Check the ground for the fuel pump and make sure you do have good power going to the pump. Check with a multimeter. If you ground and power is good to the pump, then I would say it was bad.

Try the fuel pump test jumper:

Could be your Air Flow Meter fuel pump contact is inoperative.

You should be getting 12V, I only see one resistor in that schematic and its inside the circuit relay. You might have a voltage drop somewhere in the line. Did you check this with the ignition on? Also, did you check the ground at the pump? and fuses too!
