What's wrong with your 4Runner, round 2
Time for a little update on this topic. Post up whats wrong with your 4Runner!
Best of all, I'm a broke a$$ college student.
- Both inboard CV boots trashed, mad vibration
- Front rotors warped
- Front pads worn, mountains of brake dust
- Rear shoes worn
- Unknown obnoxious squeak up front
- Engine overheats with A/C on, radiator likely clogged (just towed the U-Haul from hell 2500 miles from CA)
- Exhaust leak
- Rear LC coils are too long
- Missing fender flare up front due to an idiot in WY whose insurance is crappy at best

5-rotors are warping again
6-skidplate is un-recognisable
7-not enough flex (not fun on steep off camber descents)
8-OME coils aren't strong enough for a winch bumper

1. Driver's side outboard CV boot has been ripped since ive had it (6 months and my dad lives in FL so we never get a chance to fix it.
2. 15-16 MPG
3. Sometimes the starter doesnt work even tho we changed it like 2 months ago.
Other than that it is in really good condition.

Need alignment bad, tried to get one was told need new Pitman arm and idler arm.
Getting those replaced and alignment done on Monday. other than that, all is good.

1. Cylinder #3 zero compression due to burnt/collapsed valves.
2. Power steering pump leaking.
Could be seals or the hose.
3. Front brakes and rotors need replaced.
#1 would cost to much, estimated from dealer at $6K to rebuild or put in new/used engine.
Not worth it to me, blue book is $4K.
Solution already worked out
