Stolen truck in Pomona, CA---Remider to All
I have(had) an 86 Toyota 4x4 which was stolen yesterday. I've been meaning to put a kill switch in it but hadn't got around to it. I honestly believe if I had put the kill switch in I would still have my truck. They probably wouldnt have taken the effort to figure it out. Anyways just wanted to remind everyone to lock and secure your vehicles by whatever means practical. I also have a 97 4runner. Im taking the fuel injection and starter relays out every night now until I have time and can figure a way to wire a starter kill switch. If they want my 4runner, theyre going to have to at least work for it.
I scraped that decal off the back window but everything else is or was the same.

Oh yeah I reported it. I doubt I'll see it again though. I cant think of any distinguishing marks or anything. No Dents. The wheels are aluminum fairly standard. license plate is Ca: 7k75840 VIN: JT4RN63R9G0050086 I drove around town today in some of the bad areas to see if it had been abandoned somewhere close. No luck. I greatly appreciate everyone keeping their eyes out for it.

I hate to say it but you probably have a good idea of where it went within hours of being stolen. Sorry to hear about your super clean rig getting nabbed!
All my buddies say I should get LoJack but I am not sure if it is stolen that I will want it back. I live so close to the border that I can see the Tijuana soccer stadium from my back yard. It would be so trashed that I would rather just start over again.
I hope this is not the case in your situation.

Yeah I only paid 1900 for it like a year ago so it could be worse. If it does get trashed, It probably wouldnt be worth fixing. Fortunately too this wasnt my daily driver so I dont have to worry about replacing it

Thanks everyone for looking. The police found my truck but I wont know too much more till tommorow. the police said it was damage and striped. The wheels are still there but the camper is gone and wires are riped out under the dash. Thats all i know. I cant see it until tommorw! Thanks everyone for keeping a eye out. Ray

well, I ended up giving the truck to the tow yard. The dash was all tore part the steering colum was taken apart. They took all kinds of parts off the engine. They took all the parts out of the insides of doors including the door locks. the funny thing is they didnt touch any of the body. It almost looked to me like they wanted specific parts. I live in an apartment so I dont have a place to keep a non running vehicle or else I may have kept it. The tow yard the police use wanted almost $500 to get it back. Seems messed up to charge people to get their stolen vehicle back. Anyways my next truck will have a solid front axle!!
