They can be made to any specification, and i'm sure they could make them as lift springs also. They are better than conventional leaf springs in every way. On leaf spring arch, i was under the impression that less is better, while not being flat, you get to much arch and you loose flexibility.

Those parabollic springs sound good but I guess they do not perform as well as
predicted. They are said to perform well when installed with an axle mounted over the spring. It turns out they did not live up to expectations when mounted in a SPring over axle situation (like most toyota 4wd axles)
4WD Toyota OwnerMagazine did an install on an FJ40 in the May/June '07 issue
pages 28-36.
In the September/October '07 issue pages 72-73 they had removed the springs.
In their situation it did not work out when installed in an SOA. Just a heads up on one case.

maybe if they made a pack with the eye spring on the bottom vs the top, for a SOA application?

I betcha it's because when you run them under the axle the theres no torqueing of the entire spring pack because the first spring in the pack has the eyes, which would be directly connected to the axle versa if you install them ontop of the axle (like our trucks, fjs etc) then your putting the contact point on the outer spring which might cause the spring pack to break or move excessively seeing as how the design has them spaced apart.
