ticking r22
Hello all
I have a 1982 pickup that makes a ticking, or clacking noise that goes faster in sync with the rpms, after the truck warms up i dont notice it, it isnt quite as loud, does this require attention?

Sorry to nitpick, but I just can't understand the r22 thing...I see it on craigslist all the time. I mean, if you've opened the hood of your truck, it's clearly 22r. My apologies if you're dyslexic...
Could very well be that you need a valve adjustment, but I'd check the timing chain guides too, just to be sure. You don't want that thing breaking or eating a hole through the time cover...bye bye engine if that happens.

The valves could be a little loose. Nothing wrong that though, it's better to have them a little loose than too tight.
Just pop off the valve cover and check the valve's and timing chain and guides. I don't get the r22 thing either, weird.
