full width axels

hi i want to do a sas on my 4runner and was woundering what year dana 60 i need to look for. I know it has 2 b out of a chevy or dodge, just need to know the years. thnk

uhh...just about any 3/4 ton chevy ( i'm guessing with the older solid front axle)

uhm..dodge half tons i i believe until atleast early 2002 or so...before they changed to the new body style

although i could b mistaken lol

oh lordy, thousands have done the conversion, not as many on here but there is A LOT over on Pirate4x4.com

but if you're a noob then i recommend NOT posting there...as they will TOTALLY FLAME UR BUTT!!! lol they are ruthless dude hahahaha

just do a forum search for "full width" or something similar

well i am not a noob, i have a fj40 landcruiser that i built, now i want to build a 4runner. i really dont know much about the full width axles. i am a noob to this site. still trying to figure how the site works. lol

well you should be ok over on pirate though, but make sure you search around and read A LOT of the full width build thread's before you post anything...you will get flamed..it's just a matter of when and how bad lol

it is a 91, i need to download some pics, i am pulling the motor out, and putting a 5.7 vortec in. when i am done with that i will b doing the sas on it. lots of work ahead for my.lol ( i paid 500 bucks 4 the runner )

Probably whatever year had the differential on the passenger side.

What tranny/transfercase are you planning on running? that is going to be what decides it. Whichever side the transfercase output is on is going to what you need.

Literally less than one minute of searching in the Pirate4x4 Toyota Bible 2.0 yielded this result...

Dana 60s are only in 1 ton trucks. Not 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton trucks(except Cummins 3/4 ton trucks). Those are either 10 bolts or D44s.

Chevy up until 89. Dodges up until 92. Then Dodge went Drive drop after 92'. The Chevy is the more desirable axle. Make sure its SRW (single rear wheel).

Expect to pay between $800-1200 for a D60 front axle.
