anything that makes it taller than the tallest point on the truck from what I understand.

Try a search in your madel section I bet there is lots of good info there. Good luck.

Center it to the cab and use the rail of the bed behind the rear window

I'd use somthing that you can quick disconnect if you use your rig for a daily driver. If you have a CB shop or truck stop near you, they have many diferent styles of mounts. I used an inner fender mount bracket with a K-40.

the problem with that is that it would smack up the back of my cab.

Put a small rubber ball [squash ball works great] over it where its going to hit/rub on the cab.

I put mine on one the tie down hook near the front of the bed. I rarely ever have it hit the cab. Mainly only when I enter my garage or anything. It stick's up plenty far and looks really clean.

technically, it should be mounted in the center of the roof. But, it is not practical. I used to have mine there, but it would hit everything from trees to parking garages to clearence signs, etc... I would put it in the bed or on the rear bumper, so long as its the highest point on the truck

thanks KEVININSAC that does look pretty clean, and thanks for taking the time to post up pics. I think i like NIX4X4's idea of putting it on the rear bumper, and i think ill get some kind of quick release.

to have a good ground plane i would mount it behind the cab right in the middle of the back of the bed

i would use a 3' or 4' foot antenna with a h/d spring
as for a mount you could use many most use a 3 way mirror mount and bolt them to the back
of you could get one that clips onto the fender if you like that i dont
or they have one thats called the gripper were it would gripp onto the bed of the truck

now make sure when you put the antenna on it has the plastic waser or nylock under the antenna between the antenna and mount this is so your antenna dose not gound out

or pick up a wilson 1000 or 5000 mag mount and set it in the center of the cab as far back as ya can

now for coax do your self a favor and dont get that rat shack stuff it is junk
get some thing like rg-8x or mini-8

if any one needs any cb help feel free to send me a pm cb radio is my thing
and have a small shop out of my home if ya need any thing or any help feel free to ask
