Ok I finally got around to sticking mine in. Everything works but the tach.....so I wire the ign port to screw labeled p and nothing happens. In the clip that plugs into the back of the tach there is a connector pin in D7. I'm wondering if there is just something wrong with the new cluster. Any ideas?

Ok so I swapped in another cluster from my brothers 95 runner and the tach workes like a charm. Looks like the one in mine isn't workin. Also, his has a cable driven speedometer so it looks like they did switch back.

I bought mine at a local junkyard here for about 50 bucks. When you are replacing these it is very important that you get the right one for the type of motor you have and the year. After 92 it is an electric speedo for a few years buut then they go back and forth. If you mistake it for the v6 one the rpm's will not be correct. I ran into this problem when I was looking for one. I spent about an hour at the junkyard and was finally able to find one.

Definately would recommend one!

Bleeder,

That stainless steel cover for it looks pretty sweet. I don't know if I would want to change it from the stock look though

You should have someone airbrush something on that cover and that ish would look sweet!

Does anyone know if I could do anything to fix the tach that I have? Is there any way to test it? Nothing looks burnt or overheated so I want to try to fix it.
