Removing oil dip stick tube on 22RE

Does anybody have any suggestions for removing the oil dip stick tube on a 22RE? I have the engine completely disassembled. Thanks in advance.

Mine was just siliconed in. So after I pulled the bolt out at the top of the tube I just pulled it out.

Oil dip stick tube

I thought it should come out that way, but mine is stuck fast. I'll just keep working it around and see if it will come loose. Thanks for the input.

i had the same problem with mine. all i did was take a pair of pliers and carefully move the tube around, then when it gets looser it should just pop right out. it took me about 10 minutes to get it loosened up. just work at it

You can remove it if you *carefully* drive it out with a large punch from the bottom side of the block. (The pan needs to be off to do this.) Place the punch on the lip of the tube where it inserts into the block and tap it out. Do this gently or you'll curl the lip closed. Use the largest punch that will fit the hole in the block.

best application for that would be a brass drift, keeps from mangling the steel up.
