Pre-Planning for this weekend's work
So I have a collection of parts that are going to get installed Friday afternoon, and Satuday:
*all 4 new shocks (Monroe Sensatrack)
*both upper BJs
*both lower BJs
*both inner TREs
*both outter TREs
*new sleeves between the TREs
*new pitman arm
*new idler arm
*new steering stabilizer
I'm getting an apointment setup for alignment Sunday, and at the same time would LOVE to get some new tires, cause the truck needs them... bad... it's seriously maybe 3-4k miles away from baring steel...
So I priced around today; had BFG ATs in mind, but their a little too $$$ for me right at the moment, or at least to have done this weekend. I found another option though:
Sumitomo ATs
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....TR+Sport+A%2FT
There's a shop right down the road that has 4 in stock, 31x10.5x15, and will mount, balance, and align for $682.84
But what I'm curious about is has anyone here ever ran these meats? There's a few bad reviews on TireRack, but most are good. According to the chart, it's so/so in the snow-ice area, but I live in Florida, so that I could care less about
The only reason I REALLY want some new rubber this weekend, is beause Tuesday I'm taking a 3 hour trip down to southern Florida, and then have to make the same trip back on Thrusday, all at 70mph + , and I really would like to avoid a blowout, or incountering a downpour at those speeds with no tread
So any thoughts on these guys? Any good or bad things ever heard mentioned about them?
Thanks guys!
Oh yeah, mods if you feel necisary, you can move to "Tires & Wheels", but I just figured that since it deals with a little more than just that, I'd put it in here

I don't have experience with these specifically, but I do with Sumi's and they will wear quick regardless of the said rating. And for nearly 700$ I'd buy them from Summit and find a little mexican tire shop to balance them, I did that and they are balanced great.

Plus 8$ per tire last time I checked then a balancing. It will come out nearly the same and you'll have a better tire.

Ah yes..... planning.
Lets see. This Saturday I'm going to do my best to track down the battery drain on the 4runner (only drains when it's running so I'm thinking the alt isn't charging correctly), clean out all the wiring crap from the PO and his attempt at an alarm (big YIKES!) and if I get all that done then I'm going to the U-Pull-N-Pay to see if I can find an SR5 gauge cluster, SR5 front "jump" seat, some head rests and an 82 Supra AFM and TB to install on Sunday.
If the only thing I can get done is the drain and wiring thing then I'll at least be driving it to work next week and slowly pulling the interior apart so I can get it back to factory specs, yup I'm even going to put a factory 1989 radio back in there to deter thieves, before I start with the off road modifications. Yes I know I should save all the money that I'm going to spend on "pretty" stuff and blow it on gears and lockers but I do things a little different than most folks.
