oil pump drive sleeve

This is my second time getting under the timing cover in the past few months. The first time I did not remove the oil pan, this time I did and found about a cup of small plastic chunks from previous timing chain guides. That was obviously taking up surface area on my pick up screen and giving me low oil pressure. Hence me opening up the engine again. The low oil pressure was not allowing my tensor to work properly, so this time I am taking off the timing cover just to make sure nothing else is hooped. In the process though I really want to replace my crank shaft timing gear, and I am having a bear of a time getting that thing off. Has anyone ever developed a sort of trick to getting that gear and the oil pump drive sleave off of the crank shaft?

I've never had problems.. just light tapping around the gear.. make sure you do it on opposite sides.

Yea that shouldn't be a press fit, I can see if it hasnt been removed in a long time that it might stick a little.
