fresh rebuild 3vze having a couple problems need help
Ok so i just got my freshly rebuilt 3vze into my truck this weekend and got it fired up saturday and now i have a few problems hopefully someone can help me with.
problem one: truck warms up and keeps warming up tell i give it gas and the thermostat finally opens, i took the thermostat out and ran it like that and it ran fine, went and got another new thermostat and it still is doin the same thing, and the heater wont blow any hot air until i give it gas.
problem two: the truck will not go into gear when its running and i press the clutch in. i took the tranny off again today and looked to make sure everything was one right and it was, so i put it back together and tried to drive it and it still wont go into gear when the clutch is pressed and the motor is running.

Just from what I read, it sounds like you have a bubble of air in your coolant system. It was suggested to another lister with that problem to raise the front real high and add coolant with a running warm engine.
I'm not speaking from experience, just what others have written.
Please let us know what cures it and good luck.
Can't help on your other problem.

Does the flexible hose look old and cracked? There's an air bubble or a leak in the system somewhere, that's pretty much the only explanation if the clutch is installed correctly. Could be the master or slave as well. Still comes down to air in the lines.

So the friction disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and clutch fork are all installed correctly and in good shape. Not doubting you, just trying to make sure the facts are all here.
That all being good, then it's a leak, bad master, bad slave, or the hose is damaged and is swelling when pressure is applied.
For master of slave check out Marlin, for the hose I'd go to the dealership.
If your '91 is the same part no. as my '90, it's 96816‑51270.
