my key to my 95 honda accord works in my uncles 99 crv.

ive always found ignitions and door locks to be easy to defeat. wonder if there is any other way of putting a key in the loop.

i know im putting in a fuel pump cut off...

This is my second one and they both did that. My first one after 5 years of owning it new. My second, well..................it is 21 years old.

My key will come out if it is inserted one way, but if I flip it then it will stay. The key to my truck could also be used in all of the golf carts at the course where my dad used to work.

my mom use to have a 87 toyota pickup 4wd that she used for hunting the key fell out all the time real fun after it slides under the seat

my 91 doesnt, but our 87 ford starts with anything you put in there, esp honda keys, and even a knife

I had an 89 and I could not remove the key. I was surprised to find my 88 which replaced my totaled 89 allowed me to remove the key.
And Yes the potential problem is pulling it out after killing the engine witht he key still in the acces position and killing your battery.

I do like being able to pull it out. But for warm ups, I just call on my handy remote start :<) mm toasty.
My key is so worn it has a knife-like edge at the tip.

My '79 Suburban used to start with no key, and the key could be removed at any time. Then for some reason, I sprayed a shot of WD40 in the cyllinder and lost that feature.

If memory serves me correctly, the feature returned after a few months....

My 864rnr does it, but a new key seems to solve the issue. I like it, though, too. I can leave it running at the store when it's butt freezing cold and come back minutes later to a warm vehicle.

I can pull out the whole lock cylinder and start my car with a pair of plyers

yep mine comes out even on some trails....they swing and just fall out LOL i love it in the winter cause i can pull the keys arm the truck and leave it to warm up

I can pull the key out on my 86 when it is running too! I have also used the door key unkowingly to start the car and drive it. Last year I went ot get duplicates made and they did not have any keys to match the ignition key (where can I get that done?) so they made me copies using a key like the door key which is completely different that the ignition key and those work too but I have to turn it hard.

This thread should be blackholed, the only thing threads like this do for "some" people who stumble on to them is to learn a how to steal. While most "pros" know how to steal our old rigs; Don't spoon/stem feed the newbies that are headed the same direction in life as scum.

Worn lock cylinder. At thsi pointm, its super east to "pick" your lock and drive away. Might consider replacing it with a new lock cylinder.

my 85 was like that, now my 89 never did it, till a few months ago, but its not the factory key, so im gonna get one made for it.

When I bought my 4Runner the driver's door lock and the ignition were both worn to the point where any flat object would unlock the door and start the truck. I replaced the door lock and ignition before moving to the city as the last thing I need is someone breaking into or stealing my truck.

I still have an original key that has barely been used. I use it as a master to make copies. The key I have now does NOT come out, but the the one before was so worn, it would come out or fall out while the engine was running. The new one fixed that.

More likely it's just a worn key. Get a new key cut (not copied from your worn one), and that problem should go away. Keys are soft brass and wear out easily. I don't think the cylinders are brass; steel, if I remember correctly.
