Back finally with another Yota

Hey guys I finally got another toyota. This time I am keeping this one and gonna build it over the next few years. I just traded my Jeep cherokee for this 87 yota with a small lift and 32in mud tires and a welded diff.

Just has a few things here and there that need fixing nothing too major. one thing i would like todo is swap out for a locker as soon as I can. But as for now the welded will do.

here it is

Alright! I remember you wanting to get another yota for some time now. Nice rig! Lots of potential. Look forwards to the evolution!

yeah has a bit of little things that need to be fixed but nothing I cant fix.

first thing I think I wanna get after I fix all the little things is get gears and a locker in the rear. Its welded now and I have a welded diff in my 240 and tires for my 240 are cheap tires for this truck aint so I got to get rid of it asap. Plus it doesnt have much power with these 32s.

Do you think 4.88 gears would be ok to run with 32s and ill probably goto 33s eventually.

4.88 will be fine with 32s. Some companies 32's are 31" tall, and others are 33". The sidewall number is just a guess at what the tape measure height will be. Maybe scrounge a few junkyards for a truck with a spare diff you can throw in and put your tire money towards a locker and gears.

ya I am gonna guess one set ( I have two different types of tires on ) is closer to 33s cuz they look taller. But what about 456 gears? and I think I will get another axle and then save for gears and a locker.

A matching set of tires would be a good start, then go from there unless you have the coin to re-gear at the same time. I'd go 4:88 myself, but I'm not a speed demon. Then when you wan't 33's you'd be golden.

Mismatched tires = angry drive train when in 4wd... The last thing you want to do is piss off your tcase or diffs

don't bother with the 4.56. For our trucks 31"=4.10, 32"=4.56, 33"=4.88, 35"=5.29, 37"=5.71 Anything beyond that size and you'll need bigger axles. That of course if a rough guide and I'll probally get flamed so I'll end it with *exceptions always apply!!!!!*

Gear for your final number. Don't waste money having to do it twice.

Thanks guys and yes I am going to probably go down to a 31 for now cuz I wont have money to regear for a while but when I do ill go 4.88s. I discussed this with Tom at 4wheel parts also and he suggested 4.88s so thats what imma go with. I also am gonna save for a locker so I can do it allllll at once. And lookinformytoyota im in portland area why?

haha ya me too, only thing i dont like is the ifs but who dont and thanks guys, I love my km2s as well the ONLY down fall i have found is at low wheel speeds in mucky mud it gets caked, but long as i peddle down it all flies out haha. My future plans are sas of course ( weather it be with a toyota axle or 1 tons ) not sure depends if i can move into a house anytime soon or not. Then of course bumpers, gears, bigger tires and I may do the 3rz swap ( the 2.7l ? ) or i might go bigger with something more powerful just all depends on where i live, funds and what not. But anyways anyone know how to tune a damn weber? I put mine on recently ( for one i have a leak at the base plate ) but other then that i cannot figure out how to get it tuned.
