4Runner tailgate... no power

The ground wire gets "corroded".
I had to take the harness apart and replace the ground wire.
When I cut the ground wire apart - it was totally "green" inside....
Use a HD (12guage?) fine wire (very flexy) wire I had around... very nice...

i just went to roll down my back window with the key and got nothing. switch inside didn't move the window either. tried the rear wiper and it worked once, then pushed the window switch and now the wiper doesn't work. i do have brake and tail lights, the license plate lights work, and no blown fuses or fusable links. i felt the window regulator and it was a little warm, even though it wasn't being used. i have a 3rd gen, '98 SR5 btw. one thing, when i pushed the "down" on the switch to the inside there was a clicking in the blue box (which i guess would house relays?) so i know it's getting power but no go.
i'm going to check the ground connections since this is happening to the rear wiper intermittantly and the window; i'm not convinced it's a relay or bad window regulator.
i'll post what i find should i fix the problem

If I'm not mistaken you will not find power in the tailgate. It all works off the ground side of the power window relay.Which means you'll have to put the ground side of the test light on a 12 volt source, then check for ground.
