We were all noobs at one time. haha.

I believe there is a write up about replacing the valve cover gaskets. Search for it, im sure you will find it.

Dammit - I forgot about that! Check the O2 sensor wire where it crosses over the exhaust. Mine fell down and burned through the insulation, then shorted out and blew the fuse and the truck died like NOW.

Rereading your original post I see where I was thrown off. You said "tried to start it and it just sounded like it was getting no gas (wouldnt turn over)" so I thought that it would not even crank (starter turning engine).

I agree with TC. Check the O2 sensor wires.
