I put 265/75r16's (~31" circumference) on my (at the time) stock 88 4runner with aftermarket 16x8 (3.75" backspacing) wheels and they missed rubbing the rear of the front fenderwell by about 1/4" at full-lock turning. I can't imagine a tire with 2" larger diameter not rubbing at some point considering the tire is 1" closer to anything around it.

31" almost rubbed on mine (with 15" stock chromed steelies)- we tested... and 33" would've.
that's why I went with the 265/75r16's on mine- slightly smaller than the corresponding 15's and the backspacing on the new wheel (3.75") pushed the tire back out to almost rubbing. No way I was getting a 33 without rubbing, regardless of backspacing.

I guess different "stock" trucks are different?
