Not to mention guys have been taking these things to 8,000rpm + on stock internals (aftermarket fuel delivery and ecu needed). But bone stock they hit the revlimiter at 6500rpm. Thats quite a bit of usable rpm range imo.
Isnt the 22re designed to rev relativly low?

Plus a 1uz sounds so much better then a 4cyl
How so what?
A 7MGTE offers at least 200HP (on a cold day without the turbo) and upwards of 500HP on a 'fast and furious' day. You don't need 8000 rpm's to make power, and realistically don't want to rev that high on a truck.
A 22RE will hit the fuel cut at somewhere around 6200-6500 rpm's as well... so?
Yeah, a 22RE produces peak power (stock) at around 3200 RPM's and...?

I'll tell you the secret: torque gets things moving and horsepower keeps it moving.

If you want to go turbo do it. Piece together your kit and you will save money over say buying the LCE kit. Talk to Darin dcg9381 is his name on here I think and do a google search for jeff mosks 22r, or you can ask me but I don't know as much as they do. Been Brown tc22re is another one to talk to. We all have turbo's on our rigs.
