just purchased an 85 4runner that i think has wagoneer front springs and my trail gear u boly flip kit won t work. its like the axle is twisted forward also has high steer and the tie rod rubs on the right side of the spring when turning. any suggestions what is causing this?

How thick is the front spring pack? Too thick and they may not fit under the tie rod. Any shims/wedges between the springs and the spring perch? If so, pull them. Are the spring perches stock or have they need cut off and relocated? Why won't the u-bolt flip kit work?

I had this same issue, since the diff is angled upward when you put the ubolt on it follos the angle of the diff. I had to deal with an elocker too which made it harder to fit. I had to bend the bolt a bit and lengthen the slots in the top plate for the ubolts. total PITA. not sure if anybody else had this issue but its what I had to do.

Thanks for the information. I ended removing the extra two springs previous owner added and took the shims out and every thing fit much better. Drive shaft is too short now even though it got lowered from the spring removal.

Can always slip in a spacer to lengthen the drive shaft if you only need an extra 1.5" or so:

Otherwise, have a local drive shaft shop lengthen it for you or you could make a square tube shaft:
