32/36 backfires when coasting down hill
I just put a rebuilt weber 32/36 on my 85' 22r 2wd and it runs fine except when i'm coasting down a hill then it makes popping backfiring sounds. I checked the timing and its good and the carb is set correct. Any ideas?

Generally speaking, backfiring on deceleration is caused by excess fuel(too rich), that is in the exhaust after combustion, igniting. So lean it out a bit and try that.
Backfiring on accel or steady throttle can be timing or to lean. To lean causes the fuel to ignite easier and faster, and the intake port/manifold will get hot spots igniting the fuel before the spark plug can do it. This is my experience anyway...
