does anyone run the trail gear springs with the drop steering arm with stock steering set up? does it work well? any pictures with flex? i have been curious to see how well the stock steering arms do. so lemme know how u enjoy it if anyone has actually done it. i know everyone has high steer. or says to get it. but if someones on a rlyyyy tight budget i say why not? lemme know. thanks. pics appreciated

What exactly are you asking about? Drop pitman arm? Drop drag link? Drop steering arms on the knuckle?

I would presume since you said stock, you are referring to a drop drag-link. I have never wheeled it, but for everyday road use, I would guess it would be fine. Alot of guys do it. Since the stock drag link has the rebuildable joints on it, and they are spring loaded, it can create play in the steering wheel. That added to multiple rod ends, it can get sloppy quick.

And the stock set-up is smaller diameter tie rods versus most Hy-steer kits offered. Not the best for wheelin'.

Physical impossibility to run TG leaf springs and not go to high crossover steering...as your stock stuff doesn't have that much free play. Besides, J arms suck.

thanks guys, i was just curious because it did seem possible but i was thinkin no because of axle movement to. but this is probly wondered by lots of people so its good info for more then just myself. i got a tuff country 3 inch lift on my truck and i am gonna add a leaf off my buddys rear ranger springs to my front. its pretty decent ride as is right now. so i think one more should let it be perf. next thing is just to finish my heater core bypass, and intake manifold gasket leaks and carb gasket leaks. wish u guys were my next door neighbors lol. thanks again 4crawler.
