Spacers

so i'm goin to switch in the wider rear axle (i need spacers up front cause i hit the leaf springs and box when turning) so i'm goin to match the width up front. so my bud told be you can take stuff off an ifs and replace parts of the live axle instead of using spacers and you'll still gain 3 in total width. has anyone does this? what all do i need from the ifs?

sounds like he's talking about using the rear end from an IFS truck as the front axle. Doable? IDK, anything is possible with the right tools, knowledge and fab skills.

no he was saying you can take the outer assembly from an ifs and put your stock hubs in it and run it on the original solid front axle.

yes .. the 86-95 IFS hubs are interchangeable ... and wider .. and match the width of the 86-95 rear axle housing ..

So whats the point of buying the sky kit if you can just use IFS hubs to gain the width?

i would imagine it might be easier but parts from a junkyard would be a lot cheaper and probably worth the extra effort

using the IFS parts to widen the front SA is not just slapping the parts on:
