After my badlands run fell through sunday, i went out to the cliffs to help do some work on the new rock section they are currently building. And i wont lie, i wanted to do some wheeling on it too. There is still a decent ammount of work to do to get the first section finished, and then there is a whole nother section to get working on when this is complete. The white Toy is the park trailmasters, black one is mine.

It was a good day of work, even though we played arround more than we worked. Its going to be an awesome trail once its finished. There are alot more pictures of it in my webshots album in my sig.

I like my self clearancing rockers, they make cooler noises when they get dragged on rocks than sliders do.

Pig wasn't pleased - it was scared.

Nasty looking stretch of rocks. Looks like it would take a while to get all the way down it and if you break, yer hosed.

Needs more bail outs. How do you get out of the ditch if you break?

I'm up for running it one day when I can spend the day.

I told you there was alot more work to be done to it, the section that i posted pictures of was th start of the easy part. That trail was nasty enough without the rocks in it, i cant wait to see how much trouble people get in on it now(myself included).

Well, after reading this i called up Tom to see how much more they had done, and he said hardly anything as thier big equipment has been broke since i was out there. So i decided to wait to say anything until i saw it in person. We went back out there and sure enough, its almost the same as when the pics were taken. If anything its easier than what i posted pics of, as some of the big holes that were there have been filled in. There are two spots that were obviously going to be more difficult, but that was it. Had it not already been the end of the day i would have dropped right in and run it again.

Next time, run it.

I hate you Joe.

It was the end of a long day for me and I had NO steering. All I could think was how difficult it would be to maneuver in there. escpecially with no exits if I broke. Maybe if we EVER wheel togeather you can show me the way. My buddy todd in his fj55 was feeling the same way. But now with the hydro ill try it. Also Ive got a profeild in driver side and my passenger side is eating birfs like a fat kid eats cup cakes. LONGS are in my future!

Honestly, its not as bad as it looks. On 35's or smaller it would be a bit more difficult with diff and driveshaft clearance, but with 36's and lockers front and rear you shouldnt have much trouble. Gearing helps alot, too.

Next time out, we'll run it. I'm planning on being there next sunday, let me know if you want to go.

And might i suggest the 30-spline longs? I love not having to worry about breaking birfs anymore, as it is my weak link is my drive flanges, which is soon to be solved.
