Anza Borrego Run 12/11-12
Went out on this run that MarcP set up. Had a lot of fun and I ended up showing up a little late but found the gang after a couple phone calls as I wandered around out there looking for them.
I ended up meeting them in time to run Calcite Mine Trail and go play around in Truckhaven Hills on Saturday. I camped over night with MarcP and Sunday we did South Coyote Canyon Trail.
For breakfast Sunday morning we went to some joint in Borrego Springs that was playing Techno music the whole time. I asked the waitress what this place used to be and she said General Pattons old kwansit hut. It was surreal to say the least.

Great weekend guys.
Rob(Robt2k), Mikey(wifesaysimadumbass), and I camped out on the North East side of Ocotillo Friday night. Sat morning we heaved over to Truckhaven Hills and met up with beerdrinker/Martin. We followed a wash up to a semi difficult climb out, and ended up close to the Calcite Mine trail. We recieved a call from Matt(Darx) and he joined us. We took the Calcite Mine trail to the top, and had a great view of the surrounding areas. We then folled Palm Wash back to Truckhaven for some fun hill climbs and muddy washes. Finished off the day with a great meal at the Salton Sea "Super Burger".
Rob, Mikey, and Martin split and Matt and I camped at the same spot as the night before.
Sunday Matt and I headed to Borrego Springs and ran the always fun Lower Coyote Canyon trail up to Sheep Canyon.
That was a good trip, those that said they were coming but didn't missed a good trip.

This was a really good run, I liked that we had no set plan as far as where we were headed. I think it allowed us the time to just explore that area, and get familiar with all those hill climbs.
I'm glad we found the same trail that Fear(Dave) had taken us on. I remember it being a little harder though, that's where Lance(Goodtimes) scraped the pass. side of his truck and broke his parking light on the bumper.
Here's a few pics-
And this one was from the great shady little caves at the top of a huge rock cliff that Mikey and his girl Alex were chillin with me in-
The rest of the pics I got are #'s 82-92 in my "Trail Pics" linked below in my sig

The truck has come a long way in one year! It was this week last year I did my first mod to it, (Downey coilovers).
See you on a run when your 4Runner is finished up!

I also like this one of Matt's truck dropping out of the frame-
It also gives a good look at the terrain, you can keep going through that wash and climbing up very steep ramps and then drop back in via some tight, rutted chutes.

Little Movie
I was fooling around with my camera and cramming it into my GPS holder then facing it out the window. I took a one minute video of one of the climbs during the Calcite Mine Trail.
Check it out if you want to here. Right-click and save! I used Movie Maker to gussy it up a little. Pretty cool little program.

I wish I had come, but I don't think I would have made it. I was so tired. Anyway Once this season clears I think I am going to hit those spots, we should make another trip. -Seth

I am glad everyone had fun. I was just outside admiring the damage I did to my rear bumper on that rocky climb out of the wash. It is time for a new higher clearance bumper. The only other damage I know of is a small dent Rob got under his gas door.

I am planning on going out either to truckhaven or coyote canyon the first weekend after new years. That would be the 7th through the 9th. My plans havent' been solidified as for what days. But I am thinking about being out there early saturday the 8th and possibly staying the night. I haven't been to either location, so I an experienced rider would come in handy. But, I don't mind exploring on my own.
