It's desert season-So Cal run planning thread
I keep seeing everyone around the country wheeling--now its our turn. We had some good runs last year, and even early this year. Lets plan another one.
Robt2k and I were talking about a desert run in the first or 2nd week in December--that gives us a month to plan a good one. I am interested in going to the Superstition area or back to Truckhaven to explore, but would like some input from others.

It's pretty short notice, but the SD4Wheelers are having their cleanup of the superstition area this weekend, it would be a good time to get out there and get familiar w/the area from those guys. They know it pretty well, and could show us some good trails.

I missed the last mud outing you guys did, though I found some mud in AZ. Depending on work I might be able to join you guys in the desert (as long as I can get around in a stock runner)

I'm up for either place, with the nod going towards superstition, since I havent been there yet.
How is the winch cable, Mikey? What would have kinked it, did it get hung up on something while pulling?

I just talked to my neighbor, he will be going to the Superstitions the 2nd weekend in December with his quads and family. That would probably be a good weekend to play out there. that would be the weekend of the 11th, what do you guys think? Maybe we can make it a more family oriented campout.

Mikey...sorry I didn't call. Where were you? I missed you at Pismo. Good showing, lots of fun.
The first two weekends of December are bad for me. But I am interested. Superstition sounds fun, so does Coyote camping.

Everyone be on the look out for the rangers and sherriffs, they are out in force this year. I had a very good friend of mine get a DUI 2 weeks ago, he blew .09 (was driving his wife to the restroom). Also saw on KUSI (ISUK backwards ) a story about this.

coyote camping does that mean going up the lower coyote canyon? If so I guess we will have to see how much rain we get around that weekend as it has two creek crossings (time to extend my diff breather)

I am interested. I had a lot of fun at Ocotillo so going back there is cool with me. Superstition I've never been to and it sounds like there's something for everyone there as well. Dec. 11th I am unsure about but I'll keep an eye out on this thread.
Count me in as a "maybe".
I've gt lots of new toys on the truck that need some love. CB, front and rear bumpers, manual hubs....
