here is what I built, I was planning to build a hoop over the top and use a bottle jack, but it turned out to be heavy enough to slam the axle against my chopping block and remove the bearing.

this didn't work with the lock ring in place, but with it gone I flipped it over and smacked the axle end down on my chopping block and it worked great

This was someone's idea of a stereo installation. they even used an installation harness, so this was all easily unplugged from the vehicle and there was no reason they needed an extra 3 inches of wire, so WHY put 2 crimps on each one?
