As you can see in the attached pic my runner has a bit of rake. I would like to get the front end up a bit and was told adjusting the torsion bar will help. The bar on the truck is an upgraded one colored red (not sure of the manufacturer). Any tips on how to do this? I can see upper and lower bolt/nuts but I dont want to screw anything up. Any tips would be appreciated.

My next question is the how to guide states distances from rim lip to fender...are these based on a stock wheel size? Would a 16 inch rim change the distance from rim to fender....I would think it would shorten it?

 

Yes, distances measured with stock 15" wheels and yes a taller wheel will change the gap at the rate of 1/2" for every 1" taller wheel.

 

Actually the truck looks pretty level.
Measure from the bottom of the running boards (front end and rear end) to the ground and see if it's really nose down or not.

Adjusting the aftermarket bars (sounds like they're aftermarket) to raise the front, is going to pooch up the front ride quality.

you can see in this pic the nose down angle....



It has aftermarket rear leafs with 5 leafs (NOT an add a leaf) wich may account for the nose down stance, and a beefy front torsion bar. The running boards are off now but it was at 13.5 inches fender to rim with a 16" rim on it. Meaning more like 14". I rased it to 14.5" (or what would be 15" with a stock wheel) and it was far too rough and bouncey. I will look into the ball joint spacers and other options. I probly would like to lift the truck a few inches and have slightly larger tires. But that wont be happening until next spring or so.
