85 4Runner Auto Tranny

I found a 4Runner (85)deluxe, vinyl floors. It is complete but motor does not run. All interior is there and needs front bumper and grille. The body is straight and only one little bubble of rrust on the right rear qtr panel. Its been painted a pewter color which is decent. The original color is a mustard yellow. I have not seen any in this color. I kinda like the mustasa color and would consider its original color. Does anyone have info of original color and dependability of auto tranny. Im gonna pay $900 for this project. ive been hagglin for almost 2 months with seller and he wont budge on his price. Should I stay or should I go.

So what do you think of the mustard yellow color. is it common? I know the auto is slow. I dont want a speed demon. Hows the torque on it and passing on highway. Im sure if i put 4" of suspension lift I'll lose more power. What do you think of the price.

There wasn't any mustard yellow, but more of a pale yellow that I've seen. Same color that Browns started out as (and mine too).

Sounds like a great deal, I'd jump on it.

I have an /85 with the auto, I think it's great except for the extra power it consumes. I do like it on the trail tho.

Finally bought 85 4Runner

I finally bought the truck. I had it delivered today. i need to see whats wrong with the motor. definitely may overhaul it. the grille was in the back cargo area in one piece. The paint is still decent, except for the ugly splash stickers that were put on it. I'll see if I can get pics soon. I'm trying to clean it a little since its been sittin for 2 years. My 88 will keep her company in the carport. I had to buy it now because it was on side of highway after 2 months of hagglin.
