So I need a lift kit

I just bought some 33x12.50x15 BFG AT tires with Toyota alloy wheels and I want to put them on my 1996 4Runner 4x4. I have been looking around for lift kits so I can fit these tires and I see coil spring kits and spacer kits as well as combinations of coils/spacer kits. I was wondering what the differences are in the spacer and coil kits etc... and if I will need to buy aftermarket shocks as well. And if anyone knows of any good places to get these kits any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Please forgive me, I'm a newb

OME suspension will give you 2 - 2.5 inches... I am guessing you'll still need some body lift with that to fit 33's.

These guys have good prices on OME stuff: www.rocky-road.com.

Try the search button. I searched for "3rd gen lift" and came up with 500 hits.

Long story short, you are gonna need about 4 inches of lift. 2-3 of suspension lift, and 1-2 inches of body lift.
good luck.

EDIT: You are gonna rub with that wide of tire on your A arm and or frame unless you have some aftermarket arms or correct backspacing on the wheels. And are you sure the 15" wheels are gonna fit over your brakes?

Are you sure those 15" rims will fit on your 4runner? What size rims does it have right now?

Considering they talk about x-reas (only on 2003 + 4Runners) It doesn't seem like its designed for the 1996-2002 4Runners

Yep, your going to rub your upper a-arm with that wide of tire. And even if you had the 11.50 i would think you would rub too with the stock rims.

I put a 3'' toytec spacer lift with 03 tacoma coils on to get the true 3'' with a 1'' diff drop. Got 285/75/r16's goodyear mt/r's and i only rub if im doing some serious rompin.

I would recommend getting some new rims. even then you will be close with those tires.

Heres mine https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...t=finally+pics

a 1/4 inch spacer will take care of the upper a arm rubbing.. stock rims and AT tires wont rub the a arms. mt tires will though

In my opinion, the #1 kit is the best all around kit offered. In the next few months, I plan on doing that kit and a 1inch body lift along with 33x12.50 bfgs with some black steelies. The key to fitting those tires will be clearing them of the A-arms, so get some 15x8 rims with the correct backspacing.
