Andy, those look like they are going to be plenty strong. Are you going to try to do double kickouts with the tube? I really need to find someone to weld mine on!

I'll see on Saturday what I like the best. I can't decide between the single rear kickout, double kickout, or possibly some x-cab/bed protection with a small raised hoop. Eventually I want an exo-cage over the shell with a rack so tying that in to the sliders and eventual rear bumper will play a role in the slider config.

Yeah, there gonna be welded on. After my trip to BB this past August the decision whether to bolt/weld was made for me when, on Jhon Bull, I saw two different bolt-on's move at least 1" while the welds-on's were rock friggin solid. Lookign forward to working on them this Sat.

Here's the progress made on Saturday. I'm sure I'll catch some shiat for only having 2 outriggers but we'll let the rocks decide. After I weld the RT I'll have to head back to Josh's for the 1/4" mounting welds.

Besides - He used up all his gas welding someone's diff armor and I don't think their even going to DC.

Sorry Marc - that was my poor attempt at some humor. Looking forward to testing these bad boys out.

Thanks EC. Is your ding repair guy Pat? Nice freakin guy if it is.

Yeah, my plan is to rattle can with semi-gloss/satin black after a couple of coats of metal prep. I'll head back to Josh's with all but the gussets and mounting plates to paint. Finish weld, paint, and some 3M no-slip to top 'er off. After that my plan is to beat the ลลลล out of them.

Heck yeah. Pat is frickin cool and does awesome work. He has this super cool Craig 7-6 that he is trying to get rid of and it looks so good to me. Not the best time of year to be getting a longer board here in IB but a nice ride!

The 3M 1" tape from Home Depot is great. Just remember to not stick it perfectly on the top of your tubes. It will scrape the S*** out of your legs when getting in and out of the truck. Ask me how I know. Ouch! The second time I did it I put it inboard (biased towards the truck body about a 1/2" off center.

This way if you want to stand on them you still get the traction but letting your leg slide over the outer edge is still the smooth painted surface.

Not trying to nuke it out it just made it a bit nicer.

Got off early from work today and was able to get my plates cut, drilled, and tacked. I also got all the RT welded. I happy with how the flate plate turned out. I like to call it functional bling.

Check the surface rust on the booger weld...
