Google Jeff Mosk(I think that's his name anyways). He seems to be the be all end all tech guy of the 22RTE. his is putting out somewhere int he neighbor hood of 260hp. I'm positive I remember a link on his site to a guy that sells after market downpipes(with flex joints)

A decent exaust shop should be able to make you one.. the hardest part is the flange.

Suk! No luck!
I"m in the process of thinking about swaping the stock 22rte turbo to the 86.5-92 7MGTE turbo. Have any of you guys done the swap and did it clear the steering shaft.

As stated above, Bruce makes a downpipe for the 22RTE, assuming you can't have it made locally for less.. I built my own.

Check pirate for 7M swaps - seems to be fairly common...

I notice you've done alot of work on your 22rte, awesome webpage BTW.My question is it possiable to used the the Toyota Cressdas 5MGE Throttle and TPS sensor. I notice you have a 5MGE throttle but does it require any fabication or is it a plug and play. Thanks for your time.

I'm using a TB from a 7M series. I've heard you can use the TB from the 5MGE also, but I've never confirmed. You should be able to use the same TPS - toyota had two types, so don't dump your old one (just in case).

The 5MGE TB will bolt up to the plenum, based on what I've been told.. You'll have to do some port work to get it to fit correctly (55mm hole on the plenum vs 60mm TB). Linkage - I'm not sure.. I used my old throttle linkage, welded up some stops for WOT and idle.

See my "rebuild" link on my website - there are several photos of the 7M TB.

For more precise information on the 5M TB, post to www.celica-gts.com/forums - I think a few of those guys have done it.

Cool,
How did the 7M TB fit on your manifold! Any mods. My idea is to have a streetable truck with power that will pass the california smog, so tha AFM is a must have.
You also mention about you upgrading your TB to a Ford. How is your truck running today and anything new you'll like to share with us! Thx for the quick respond.

OH does it matter if it is a 7MGTE or 7MGE
