I got them stock aswell.. You want to install power windows and locks? I would leave it alone, i don't think it's worth the work and cash. They will probaly never work right anyway... my .02

I have stock power windows and locks. The main switch assembly was like $140 to replace. (It was messed up when I got the truck 10 years ago.)

Manual windows/locks/mirrors would make it a lot eaiser to take the doors off at the trailhead. The 3 connectors are a pain to reach.

I'd stick with manual.

SR5 and 4runners have electric door locks and windows.

on the 4rnr there is this big complicated door locking "brain".... not exactly an easy retrofit if you ask me....

i see onthing wrong with my manual windows and doors thankyouverymuch

they make universal kits, go to google and type in "electric window kits" and you will get results, and its not too expensive, i was actually thinking about getting some.

it's an easy conversion, for the locks at least. get a couple actuators (i got four on ebay for around ten bucks), and wire them up. www.the12volt.com for info - the idea is both wires of the actuators rest at ground and you change polarity of one or the other to either lock or unlock the doors. so, a DPDT switch and a few wires and diodes and you're good. with a pair of relays you can connect them to an alarm, as well.

i installed actuators in my 94 pickup and it took me about two or three hours per door, they work like a charm. i didn't install any switches though, just wired them up to the alarm.

power windows is actually the same deal, the motors rest at ground and you swap polarity of one leg or another to move them up or down. some more DPDT switches and diodes and you're golden. grab the regulators out of a junked runner, shouldn't be too expensive. that's what i'm trying to do now!

i know it's an old thread but just in case anyone's wondering..

All you need are the factory power window motors and regulators. What you'll have to do is pull your window regulators out and put in the power ones in. Then after that you'll have to decide what you want to use for switches and what to control the motors with. You can use two relays per window or you can buy a universal window mod. to control them. I use a DEI 530T when I do this for people and I'll normally charge about $250 plus the cost for the regulators.
